{_ Kobayashi Kanon
Vizard
Name;;; Kanon Kobayashi
Age;;; Though she passes for around seventeen by human standards, her actual age remains unknown. She stopped counting long ago. She guesses that she's around two hundred and thirty.
Gender;;; Female
Appearance;;; White hair frames the contours of her face, bangs occasionally obstructing the view of an inscrutable gaze. Red eyes hidden behind dark lashes contrast greatly with the smooth, creamy complexion of her skin. Her slender figure is flush with the subtle curves of a young woman, body unblemished save the blue-purple markings on her left arm and shoulder blade that glow a menacing red when she is releasing large amounts of reiatsu. Some liken the pattern to the shape of a wing. Standing at five feet and three inches, she is at an average height, though her physical build gives the illusion that she's taller than in reality, and it always seems that she must look down to speak to others.
Her tattoos cause her to stand out from the standard human. These markings are visible to people with even the slightest shred of spiritual awareness, but not to those with absolutely none.
She poses as a second year student at the local high school, because she finds that a few rather interesting students attend there, and wears the uniform there during school days. Besides, it gives her something to do. Outside of school, her wardrobe consists of black-white-and-red-themed outfits. Although style may vary, the color scheme remains the same. Her shirts, relaxed in fit for comfort and ease of movement, usually reveal a bit of her toned midriff, except during the cold winter months. During the summertime, she may add a black bucket hat to her ensemble, which shades her eyes from the sun. Her zanpakutō is thrust downward through its sash, which is worn in a belt-like style, along her right hip, giving the left-handed vizard easy access to the sword. However, because carrying around a sword might arouse suspicion, she usually opts to leave the weapon at home, though she carries two daggers on her person at all times.
Zanpakuto;;; Unreleased, the sword is similar to any other zanpakutō. Beneath the crossguard, it bears a red grip and, streaming from the very end of the hilt, two white silk ribbons.
[+] The spirit of Kanon's zanpakutō appears to be a young man, possibly described as at the dawn of adulthood, bearing red-pink hair and blue eyes. He is fairly calm and brooding at all times, even when his wielder is not, a fact that helps to calm her emotions. Despite his cool demeanor, the zanpakutō is a fire-type weapon, which reflects the complexity of his character as Kanon's.
Shikai;;; Name: "Ruhari" (Red Needle)
Type: Fire and Heat
Command: “Sacred Fire, Heroic Wind. Arise, Ruhari”
Physical appearance: The blade, which obtains a slight tinge of scarlet, grows substantially longer as the sword reverts to a tachi-like form. From the end of the hilt, the two white ribbons also extend, fluttering in the newly released spirit pressure. The sword and it's wielder create an even more formidable foe, together radiating a vibe of intensity, menace, and suppressed acrimony.
Abilities: Besides an increase in heat, the reach of her weapon, and their combined strength, Ruhari can also project large arcs of fire. However, this requires a significant amount of energy to use. Bankai;;; Name: “Ruhari Arashi” (Red Needle Tempest)
Physical appearance: As a reiatsu of red bursts from her core, her blade becomes white with heat, and two wings of flame ignite from between her shoulder blades. As the film of dirt and dust caused by her explosion of spirit force clears, the enormous wings lose their blazing outer covering to reveal eagle like coloring -- feathers starting as white, then abruptly turning to brown. They can re-ignite at will, but, even without the flames, the battlefield becomes scorching hot, and shimmers in the heat.
Abilities: Bankai gives her the ability to control fire and wind (to some extent), and create mirages in the heat, visible only to the enemy. Along with the temperature, it also increases her speed and strength. Kido;;; While Kanon once knew a few kidō spells, she quickly found that she was not very adept in using them and has forgotten most of them due to lack of use. However, if shunpō counts as kidō, then that is the extent of her kidō talents.
Inner Hollow;;; Name: Sasori Hiasobi (Scorpion Playing With Fire)
Personality: Kanon's inner hollow is cynical to the fullest sense of the word. She is easily amused by the human and shinigami psyche, and responds to just about everything with a grunt, smirk, and thingyed eyebrow. Sasori Hiasobi tends to play with her victims before killing them.
Physical Appearance: Kanon's inner hollow's figure and clothing are like that of a mirror image, though the colors of her clothing are inverted. While Kanon's blue markings glow red and are on her left arm and shoulder blade when under heavy pressure in battle, Sasori Hiasobi has markings of light red-orange that glow a midnight blue on her right arm and shoulder blade. The hollow's hair is solid black, falling into eyes of cyan -- the inverse of Kanon's hair and eye color.
Hollow Mask Appearance: Kanon's mask, a glimpse of her inner hollow, comes to a point at its base. The smooth surface of the mask is white with dark blue markings of the same swirling nature as those on her arms, and its obscenely wide grin, which is more akin to a grimace, contains large sharp teeth. When wearing the mask, the whites of her eyes convert to black, and the red color of her irises becomes more vibrant, almost as if it's a glowing, neon color.
Personality;;; "I don't give a d**n," the eyes, posture, and tongue often state. Frankly, she doesn't. She doesn't give a d**n about how bad your life is or the trials and hardships you've had to go through; she doesn't give a d**n about your past, who you are, or where you came from. As far as most can tell, all she cares about is the fact that you are here now, and how she is affected by your presence. In fact, she would like you to believe that she is completely indifferent to your existence. At first glance, Kanon really does seem indifferent to the things going on around her. Her gaze, cold and unsympathetic, belie the whirlwind of emotions, feelings, and thoughts that lies deep beneath her icy exterior. For those who steal a second glance, only hard words and a short temper await them, and here they realize that she does care – to the extent of being easily irked, at the very least.
She seems to be quite irreverent and rude towards others, not bothering with use of keigo (polite speech) and respect appearing to go straight over her head. She's an introvert at heart, and doesn't really like dealing with people, but this doesn't stop her from raising her voice. The vaizard's brash manner of speech leaves little room to argue, and often offends others. Her attitude is unpleasant and difficult to get used to, which only intensifies with strangers, causing many to dislike her on sight.
Still, however harsh and merciless she may seem, Kanon is much more compassionate than she lets on, though not in the conventional, sympathetic way. Likewise, she has a strong desire to protect those things that are precious to her (which are currently somewhat lacking in number). She often gives good advice, though it may be given in a rough manner.
Kanon is very perceptive, and is usually able to analyze reiatsu and gauge physical strengths and weaknesses very quickly. When fighting, she is completely focused and very efficient, not wasting a single movement or thought. When angered, she doesn't simply become reckless. On the contrary, rage seems only to strengthen her. She absolutely hates to back down from any fight, and is the kind to get riled up if someone accuses her of doing so. Kanon looks forward to challenging battles, though she is aware of when fighting is necessary and when it is not.
History;;; She was alone on those streets. Everyone was. Early on, she learned that she had to defend for herself. As she grew older, her body became muscular and slender. Stealing was natural. Punching, kicking, fighting was natural.
He came to her like a fly to honey, and took to following her around soon after they met. She hardly said a word to him -- the young boy didn't do much anything, he was just always... there. She didn't even know his name. For years it was that way, and, as others around her died or moved on, he was always there. He was her shadow, her only constant. And then, in an instant, he was gone. She could only watch as the man drew a pink tongue across the blade of his knife, dripping with the blood of her companion. The seemingly emotionless girl simply cracked. A burst of reiatsu shot from her center, engulfing nearly half of her district and somehow devouring the man who had killed the boy.
For the next couple of weeks, she tried to forget what had happened. She tried to forget the boy's death. She tried to forget his mere existence. She failed. Her personality turned two-faced -- either silent or snappish -- and the gaping whole behind and slightly to the right of her body was overwhelming. His presence was sorely missed. What hurt the most was that she didn't even know his name.
And so, when a couple of shinigami scouts, who had been in the area at the time of her outburst, approached her and offered a place at their academy, she accepted -- anything to take her mind off... things. Unbeknownst to them, however, something had arisen in her soul, something that she would be fighting for many years afterwards.
She progressed through the academy at a regular pace, for, while her spirit power was high, she subdued it, and her motivation was low. As her days at the academy wore on, it became clear that kido was her weak point, and so she focused on hand-to-hand and foot combat, as well as her swordsmanship. Because of her insufficiency in the art of kido, following her graduation from the academy, she was assigned to Division 11 under the command of a man by the name of Zaraki Kenpachi. Many of her squad members doubted her skill, and so, partly out of resentment, she put a brief extra spurt of effort into her training and gained shikai fairly early, a development that many found surprising. Even surrounded by squad members, she spent much of her time in vigorous solitary training, and much of her experience in Division 11 was spent obtaining and practicing use of bankai, knowledge of which was only known to herself. However, this time alone did far from wonders for her psyche. It wasn't until a few years later that the others realized something was wrong. The power of her inner hollow was increasing dramatically, and so, before any destruction could be done, she left Soul Society for the living world in search of help.
She didn't have to look for long -- help found its way to her in the form of a group who called themselves 'vizard'. Just like her, they were shinigami possessing an inner hollow, yet they had complete dominance. Desperate, with nowhere else to turn, she joined them, and, as their part of the bargain, was trained to control her hollow and use its abilities as her own.
During the war fifty years ago, the war that took the lives of Kurosaki Ichigo, Rukia Kuchiki, and so many others, she remained neutral. She left Karakura suddenly for reasons unknown to even herself. Perhaps she was trying to escape the madness of something that had nothing to do with her.
However, very recently, she's returned.
Other;;; She is frequently sighted playing with a lighter, inducing the assumption that she is a pyromaniac. She often gravitates toward high places, though she isn't quite sure of the reason why.
