It was dark, about eleven in the night actually so barely anyone was here. The workers and owner of the shrine was asleep like most people in town. After all it is normal to be sleeping during a time like this but yet a boy was in front of a well. His hair and eyes being as dark as the night sky. His clothes was a blue jacket with a hood. The silent sky was calming and at the same time showing no emotions as there was no emotions to show. The same can be said about his face. It had no emotions, happiness, sadness, none can be seen in the teen's eyes. It was strange though, as everyone was asleep and off escaping reality and into their dreams he himself was wide awake. Not only but unlike those that were sleeping he was not alive. Yes, the boy was dead, a long time ago he had killed himself. That was why he was not sleeping, that was why he was emotionless to say the least. After all what emotions do the dead have to show and even more is are the dead even worthy to show emotions like the living? Especially for the cowards like him.
Starring down at the well he threw down a coin but he had no wish. After all there is no point in wishing if you are dead. He has nothing to wait for and he had never really believed it either. Soon the coin was swallowed by the water and a splash can be heard. The coin sank slowly drowning itself and not even bothering to fight back. Hmph, it just like humans in life, when something bad happens to them they simply sink into depression not bothering to try to smile. They simply look at this world as an ocean, drowning in the ocean, no escape, and all alone. He remembered how it felt, to be drown in that ocean. To scream, only to have no one hear him, to reach out only to feel no warmth grabbing his hand at all. Yeah, there was simply nothing to help you from escaping that ocean, whether he liked it or not, he had not choice but to stay in that ocean and soon die from it.
Yet, because of death he felt free for a small moment. A moment where he didn't care if he felt the warmth of hell or see the light of heaven. He didn't care as long as he had escaped from the ocean, even for a small amount of time, he was still happy. That was, until, reality had hit him once again. He slowly opened his eyes and then he became a spirit that can not pass over. The only thing he could do was be in the middle of death and living. Yes, a shinigami, protecting the living and at the same time helping the dead. Still, he hated it. He hated each and everything about it because the living ironically haunted him. The memories with them, the joy, the sadness, the fights they had and the games they played haunted him. Each and every second they were together have always come back and telling him that this can never again happen. Even if he can touch them, even if he can talk to them, it can never be the same.
After all, only one of them can see him. Yes, his cousin that he have loved. He still love her but that is because he can not move on, not with his time being halted. She still have the chance to break the chains that the past as placed on her but yet she didn't. Was it because she can see spirits. He remembered how when they were young, the two stood in front of this very well and looked at each other. The two were simply playing around the place as usual and flipping coins to make wishes. The wishes had a wide range from money, to games, grades and even fantasy. Still, one of the wishes rang out to him the most, almost like an alarm clock. It always reach out to get him to notice it, at first being good but soon it got annoying and when he decided to look at it he felt sad and weak. Then again, he was always weak, even if he is a captain, he is still weak.
"I wanna sing but I'm scared people will hurt me so my wish is to be protected.
"If that happens then I will defend you." those were his words to comfort her. Still, in the end she became a music teachers and at first people hated her but yet he didn't defend her. He couldn't defend her because he was dead. He couldn't stand in front of her or beat the kids up like he does will hollows and idiotic subordinates. No, the only thing he can do is watch he take all of that in and walk on the road that she had chose so long ago. In the end, even now, he is simply just a weak little boy.

|xx| silent night |xx| The wind blew softly around the air, making it seem a bit more chilly than it really was. The trees shook as the occasional gust was enough to cause leaves to fall from their branches, though it was clearly seeping away from fall. Dark eyes that seemed to be of a brown hue slowly glanced up to look at the moon; it was such a nice night and the shimmering white moon was hiding behind poofy gray clouds that were shielding sensitive eyes that just so happened to gaze upon the orb for too long. On this particular springtime night, the weather seemed almost perfect, if one wanted to be so bold. Though it was so late in the night, eleven o'clock to be exact, nothing really seemed to be different from a few hours ago- it was a shrine, rarely visited for more than a couple of minutes by most, with the exception of festivals and such. But today did not happen to be the case, today was just an ordinary day, with nothing different from the day before.
So what brought Hinamori here?
The 'young' girl had nothing better to do, to be quite frank, and she did not really have a reason to be anywhere else. So the question was not why, but rather, why not? A smile grew on her face as she was reminded of her past, almost forever ago to her. But still, she didn't really seem like the type of girl to be up and about this late in the night, roaming the city in search of who knows what. A small, feeble girl like her, seeming more like a lost puppy than anyone ready to explore the night life. Still, there she stood, filled with half hearted happiness, but sadness as well. Sure, she had finally made it to the living realm with all these new experiences and people, but who, who was she supposed to talk to, to befriend and make enemies with? [though the latter option is very unlikely.] Her skirt ruffled in the wind, showing her just how much of the winter weather was still present, even though it was supposed to be spring.
Black locks of silken hair transposed past her eyes from time to time, forcing her to be greatly bothered by it. Before long, one of her hair ribbons flew out of her hair, and she had no option but to chase after her ribbon, seeing as it was a gift from a friend. The young girl dashed after it, not even making it prevalent what she was chasing after. In the night-lights, it was hard to see where she was going, and all she had to follow it by was the occasional paper lantern light that came up, which were not the best way to supply light in the first place. Still, she managed, and soon, found her ribbon, tying it back into her hair with her gentle hands. Because of her wild goose chase, another came into her view. Of course, she felt the reiatsu long before this, but it was a shrine, it could have been anything. But now, it was obvious what the source was- captain of the second division, Uchiha Sasuke- sama.
Upon the sight of him, a strong sense of controversy rose up in the girl. She wasn't sure whether to say a quick hello or not. Well, he probably already noticed her there, but it would be more polite to say something instead of run away. But the captain had a known tendency to be cruel to others, if one can call it cruelty. Half of her wanted to go say hello, to make some small talk before leaving, but the other half of her knew that something would happen to crush her spirits for the night, and she did not want that. She slowly walked over, making the walk as lengthy as possible, finding any potential reason to stop, turn around, and leave, without making it seem like she was purposely running away. However, a quite obvious look of nervousness dominated her face, as if to say, 'I realize you are the boss, but I haven't done anything wrong...' Her glance met anywhere but him, until she reached the well.
Once at the well, she was on the opposing side of Sasuke. She didn't want to say anything, but did, stammering more than speaking. "H-he-hello Uchiha-sama... what brings you here today?" She really did want to be kind to him, he was a captain of higher rank than her, and all in all, he didn't really do anything to her that deserved rudeness. Truth be told, she didn't see anyone be rude to a captain, that was just asking for trouble. So with the most sincere look she could muster, she planted a small smile on her face, and took a seat at a nearby bench, looking up at the sky, as her bangs covered her face once again. She felt ridiculous, watching the sky just to avoid a small glance from a fellow shinigami? Now that she thought about it, she wasn't really scared of him, it's just that all the other shinigamis tell her about how he was so harsh on his own division, she must of taken that to a personal level. She didn't even dislike him. Stealing a quick peek at the boy, she went back to looking at the sky, now doing it just to not feel awkward. ooc|I got bored of the regular sized font, the size one font is soooo much better... and I just like it more.... yay for change?[/size]

"H-he-hello Uchiha-sama... what brings you here today?"
Sasuke had already knew that the shinigami was there, still he paid no heed to her at all. There was simply no point since he had no interest in her, well other than the fact that he thinks she is the traitor. Most points to the most obvious place, the fifth division but that is far too obvious for it to actually be true. Also how can Aizen come into contact with a shinigami that is new around here? After all not much shinigamis went to the living world as they rather stay in the silent calm home that they have. So it had to be someone that Aizen had already come in contact with, someone who have always followed him like a little dog, so in the end who could it had been other than Hinamori Momo. He never said anything about it though as he has no real proof about it. Instead, the only thing that he has is theories with reasons behind it, not really something that would convince people. So, the only thing he can do is get prepared for when she betrays them.
His eyes were not taken off from the well at all. He didn't even bother to acknowledge that she was there since he rather be alone right now though. With his gigai he looked at the doors leading into the inside of the shrine. The place where the priest and priestess were sleeping. Still, even though they say they can see spirits he highly doubted it, sure this town had a lot of people with reitsu but still, the chances of that is small, especially with how small the country is. It's funny though, how such a small place can have so many things to happen. After all, when he was alive his cousin can see spirits, Ichigo was a human and a shinigami, Ishida was a quincy, Chad and Orohime were humans with high reitsu. In this small place there were many people with great powers and so what would that be in a big place then like...China? He have never been there before but he is curious on how many humans that can see spirits there, but then again maybe this city have already took to many people that other places will have very little.
Going back to what the shinigami had said, she seems to be picking her words wisely. Was it because of fear or simply respect. It is so hard to tell these days ever since he became captain. He wouldn't be amazed if some people think that he is the traitor from what he do to his own squad. Still, there was no real proof so he was innocent with no way of being proved guilty. Besides, he doubt anyone would even dare point fingers at him, especially when his eyes become bloody red. People have always feared when it became that way. It's quite convenient though, being able to control people through fear. Yeah, it definitely felt great alright because he won't have people complaining around him. Sure they'll do it behind his back but he doesn't care for that at all. He had never care about it and he really doubt that he'll care for it any time soon anyway.
"What are you doing here? I'm sure only squad twelve takes care of this place. Also you're not a captain to be walking around by yourself like this. he stated his suspicion on her raising as he thought more and more about it. Of course, she must be trying to meet Aizen here or somewhere around here anyway. To do it doing the night will make it even better because most shinigamis will be fighting hollows and too busy to actually notice this. He had heard that the ex-fifth captain was great at hiding his reitsu. Even more is that she didn't take back her original position so that she won't have as much work to do and that way she can meet with him easier. Yes, it all makes sense now even more. Still, his face kept the same as he turned around and looked at her, his eyes looking as if they were bored. Even more though was that they showed how he didn't trust her or anyone for that matter.
Sitting upon the well he looked at her almost like a snake preparing to attack its prey. Yes, when she even give the slightest hint of going to Aizen, he'll attack her without regret. After all, who would have regret in killing a traitor that he pretty much didn't care about her. No, it is actually worse, he hated her. If he didn't care about her then if she died he wouldn't care but since he hated her, if she dies he'll be more than happy. He'll even help in her death, the sooner she is dead, the better since he'll have to stop worrying about her. Also, the guy on the fifth division won't keep on getting blamed.

An odd silence befell the two.
Whether it may be because he did not hear her question, or because he was just ignoring her, she did not know. But regardless, it was very odd indeed. She was just sitting there, while he, she wasn't sure what he was doing/thinking. She watched as she could see in the distance the city lights that shone so brightly in the night. She didn't ever really look at it this way, but then again, she hasn't been here for much time. It had been no more than a couple of days, three at most, but she had a strong feeling that she would soon have to make a living of her own in this place, seeing as she really didn't have anywhere to go at the time, and she was going to be here for quite some time judging from the way it was currently going. Not only that, but she also didn't blend in that much, Orihime supplying her with the strangest clothes. At least, that's what she thought, as she saw most people who seemed to be 'her age' [appearance-wise] wearing their school uniform, which she hadn't even dealt with yet. She hadn't even thought about school. What would she do about that?
Before becoming too engrossed in her own thoughts and memories, she found that the hostility in the air was becoming worse. Had she done something wrong to make him hate her? Of course, it could just be that she was known as the madwoman around all the shinigami due to her 'moments'. She hated how people thought she was crazy. It was her captain, taichou-sama, and friend as well, that she had to get over. It wasn't like she was crying over some complete stranger. She trusted him, and she wasn't the type to break that kind of trust too easily. Still, time came be that she found the truth. What was she supposed to do here though? She expected to find no one here, to be alone. At most, a couple of people. But she never thought to find Sasuke-sama, when she didn't even have a clue what he was doing here. With a small glance, she had to wonder, what was the captain doing here?
She herself had her reasons, putting aside the fact that she got slightly lost. She had wanted to go to the shrine, see all that it was really about. Regardless of anything, she loved going to places and figuring out their different life-styles. In this case, a shrine was an optimal place to go, find out their usual gathering and place of prayer. A gentle sigh escaped Hinamori's lips; what was she supposed to do now? This could go on all night probably- the quiet "conversation" between her and Sasuke. Would it really be sensible to stay here all night saying simple sentences? The air thickened even more for her, as she was not sure whether or not to say that she needed to go somewhere, or any excuse really, just to get away.
But she wouldn't. She couldn't. Even if she wanted to with all her sensibility telling her to, she kept telling herself not to. She didn't want to just leave, she would look stupid, and even more, she wouldn't really have a person to "turn" to. He was the only shinigami she knew that was in the living realm right now, and possibly the only one she could trust in a sense. She didn't know anyone else, besides Orihime, who she could tell her secret to. She doubted that he would listen when she needed his help, but at least she would be able to know that she could ask, right? Though he was no Toushirou for her, he would be good enough. For now, at least. She wouldn't trust him with everything, mainly because he wasn't her friend. At most, they were semi-acquaintances.
The chilly air blew, making the situation all the worse. Breaking the silence between the two, Sasuke said, "What are you doing here? I'm sure only squad twelve takes care of this place. Also you're not a captain to be walking around by yourself like this." At that, she had a simple answer- Toushirou. That was all the reason enough for her to be in Kamakura. That was his question right? Why was she in Kamakura? Or was it why she was in the shrine? "In Kamakura? Or here, at the shrine?" But as quickly as the sentence ended, she started again. "I'm in Kamakura to find Shiro-chan. I'm here at the shrine because I just wanted to see what it was like." She said this with a satisfied tone, as if she was happy to have completed answering his questions. She hadn't realized that she had forgotten to answer his final question, or statement really. ooc| I know, I know, cruddy post. But I'm extremely brain-dead after the history test today...

"I'm in Kamakura to find Shiro-chan. I'm here at the shrine because I just wanted to see what it was like."
Shiro-chan? Who the heck was that? For a moment he tried to figure who has the word shiro in their name. Soon the answer came to him, Hitsugaya. A shinigami that has disappeared in the war. Most claimed him to have been dead, she must have been persistent. He himself have somewhat met the shinigami once, it was brief though, as the he just look at the youngest captain and questioning how he got there. The two haven't really talked but he knew one thing about that young boy, he was not normal, his reitsu was high for his young age. That is simply strange, was he born that way? Is it even possible? Whatever the case was, the captain had that much reitsu but it doesn't matter anymore. The guy was MIA, missing in action, so he might as well be considered dead.
"So you're looking for the ex-captain without permission from the first division? he questioned as he stared at her, his eyes showing that he didn't trust her, but then again, did he trust anyone in the first place? The answer was no, the word trust was simply not in his dictionary. Well, at least, not anymore. The reason why he knew though was because if that kind of thing happened, then the division leaders would normally be notified. After all, that is how the shinigamis never get out of control. In his opinion though, shinigamis should be not allowed outside of their squad without being guided by another leader that is. Still, this will have to do, though he didn't fully accept it, at least it seems somewhat fair. Well, this is pretty much almost like a compromise for him.
"I don't trust you.", he stated as if giving her a sharp warning."The council might trust you and other shinigamis too, but I don't. If I find you doing anything to betray us, to betray Soul Society, you will learn of something worse than hell. he ended his eyes having a hint of red in them. It only reinforce the fact that he doesn't trust her at all. The reasons for it is quite obvious to. Beside using a shinigami who is MIA for decades was not a smart move. Why? Well a shinigami can only be in their gigai for a such a long time before becoming humans once again, ordinary humans that don't have the power to see spirits that is. He was sure that times have made the famous Hitsugaya either dead or an ordinary boy.
{Sorry, it's short.}

ooc| it's okay~! but I think I made Momo a little overdramatic in this post, so my post sucks too...As the night grew deeper and deeper, while the moon kept disappearing behind the rows of scattered houses, the sky turned dark, darker than it already was. Not many people thought about it, but the sky was never truly black as many claimed in the night. It was always more of a navy blue, perhaps dark purple at the most. Hinamori, looking up at the sky, had just noticed that. Her breath fell to a collection of surprisingly short breaths, probably due to the nervousness that the captain imposed on her. The night wind kissed her pale cheeks, sending a shiver up her spine, though she wasn't sure if it was all because of the wind. Still, she knew that she had to keep her calm. If she showed him how scared she actually was, that would just make him more hostile probably. She didn't know why he treated her like that, she had never even touched him, much rather anger him in anyway that she was aware of.
She wasn't sure whether the shinigami knew that she was there to 'befriend' him, not hurt him. He always seemed so suspicious around her. She answered his question with the truth, so there was no reason to suspect something of her, right? She never tried to kill anyone [after Aizen was out of her life, that is] nor did she even battle that much. She didn't know whether to say something about it, or act totally oblivious about it, as if she had no clue what he was doing. She didn't like either option, as one was a little too straightforward, while the other made her seem like a coward. Before she was close to making her decision, however, he seemed to speak, basically answering her questions. "So you're looking for the ex-captain without permission from the first division?" At that, the girl did not know how to answer without making it seem like she just ran off. She did get permission, just not from the first division.
Her eyes wistfully glanced around for a moment, until she finally decided that she would just tell him about what she was doing in full. Maybe after that, he would start to trust her a little more. "Well, yes, I never really did get permission from the first division." she stated. "But my captain allowed me to- they told me that it would be nice if I got some experience in the human realm. So I decided that I would use this time to look for Hitsugaya. Have you seen him or heard about him, by the way?" When she asked him that final question, the worry in her voice was quite obvious for her friend. She seemed quite eager to see if he said yes now, awaiting for any clue she could get on her missing friend. This search was starting to rule her life, but she didn't seem to notice. All she cared about was her friend being in one piece.
Of course, her wandering mind was stopped by the sharp voice of her companion, warning her. "I don't trust you." At that, she wanted to yell out, 'I knew it!', but she did not, that would not be very wise. As if to continue, he said, "The council might trust you and other shinigamis too, but I don't. If I find you doing anything to betray us, to betray Soul Society, you will learn of something worse than hell." That was just shocking to her. She would never betray Soul Society. If only he saw the sheer determination that she put into being successful as a shinigami in Soul Society. And even more, the loyalty she put into every mission she was assigned. She worked hard to make Soul Society a safe place, not to betray it. She didn't even know what to say at that. She wanted so badly for him, and anyone else who didn't trust her, to see that she would never betray them for Aizen, not again.
Any words that she had managed to conjure up had been lost now, and she fell into a silence that was quite depressing actually. She now knew that he thought that she was the traitor, but she herself knew for a fact that she was not. If she spent all her time in the human realm, while Aizen was always in Hueco Mundo, how would she be able to contact him anyway? She stayed quiet, not making the slightest sound. The only thing that could be heard was the noise of her soft breathing among the air.
