Arrancar
Name: Knave Gunn
"The Angel of Death"
Age: 20 Years as a Human, 55 years as a Shinigami, 55 years as a Hollow, 153 Years as a Gillian, 90 Years as an Adjuchas, 120 years as a Vasto Lorde, 15 years as an Arrancar.
Total Age = 508
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Knave wears the standard Arrancar uniform. He basks in the irony of his uniform; seeing as he once wore the inverted form during his time a Shinigami.
Knave has purple hair that rests comfortably under what once was his Vasto Lorde mask. His purple eyes have black, snake like pupils that can seem very intimidating to normal Arrancar. Knave's hole is located beneath the small segment of his kimono that remains tied together; while his "number 3" lay below a sash on his hip...next to a mysterious scar...
His face is very pale, and very handsome. His voice is soft and eloquent.
His Zanpakuto bears the number "2" on a chain, a remembrance of his former rank. He refuses to change the chain until he returns to his former rank.
Hollow Abilities:
Cero: Knave, like most Arrancar can utilize the Cero. Zechs chooses to shoot his Cero from the tips of his index and finger finger, almost as if he were firing a gun.
When utilizing his Gran Rey Cero, his Cero is a purple color as opposed to the standard red.
Bala: A faster but weaker, but faster version of Cero
Garganta: how Arrancar move to and from Hueco Mundo. It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway.
Hierro: Knave's hardened skin, which is a result of their compressed spiritual power. While his skin is strong enough to block even released Zanpakuto bare-handed, it is by no means impenetrable.
Sonído: A mock up of the Shinigami's flash step. It grants incredibly high speeds for short distances.
Ressureción: Knave is one of the only Arrancar to use a short poem for his release as opposed to the one word that many Arrancar use. It may be due to the fact that the poem was the release for his Bankai when he was living as a Shinigami.
"Take flight and with black wings protect us. Pass judgment, and with sword in hand deliver us from evil. TAKE FLIGHT!...Gabriel..."
Upon releasing his Zanpakutō, Knave is surrounding by a blinding white light. Two huge, black angel wings sprout from his back(spanning eight feet from wing to wing). His kimono sleeves shorten, only ending just above his elbow's. Beneath Knave's kimono a white chest plate(made from the same white material as his original Hollow) appears.
Knave's Zanpakuto appears much like a rapier; shortening significantly and gaining a curved guard handle.
While in this form, Knave uses a combination of his wings and Sonído to dazzle an enemy with incredible speed.
His special ability(that can be used only while in this form) is called: "Divine Judgment". Knave casts a huge white Cero from the palm of his hand. As the attack nears the opponent Knave uses the combination of flight and Sonído and attack the enemy multiple times. Knave then Sonído's away before the Cero hit's.
Personality: Knave seems quiet and emotionless at times. He has been known to walk around Hueco Mundo, just staring off into space and ignoring any comments or remarks from weaker Hollow and Arrancar. In fact, this is far from the truth.
After reaching such a high level of power; Knave became stagnant and bored. He felt that as Espada number 2, it would only be a matter of time before he would kill the top Espada and be promoted.
It was only after Knave was demoted to the rank of Number 3; below Kira, that his personality began to bloom.
Knave, furious at his demotion had regained all of his lost emotions and passion.
Knave treats all Hollow and lower ranked Arrancar with a smug sense of disgust; feeling that they're not worth his time. Likewise, he loathes any Arrancar stronger than himself; feeling that they're mocking him.
Like most Arrancar, Knave is vicious and hungry for battle; but due to his need to ignore those who are weak, Knave generally will not harm those he considers "innocents".
All of his motives are driven by his belief that he, and Aizen-sama are Holy warriors doing the work that the Soul Society King should be doing.
History: Knave, or rather Kenshin Taguro , was born in the year 1500. During such times, it was just as dangerous to stay indoors as it was to go outdoors.
Feudal wars, along with an increase in "demon"(Hollow) activity had turned Kenshin's home town into a breeding ground for Hollow. Kenshin, miraculously had lived a long life by his people's standards by the time he had reached the age of 20.
One part hallucination ,and one part desperation...Kenshin began believing that he was doing God's work when he formed a small militia to protect his village. The small army, led by Kenshin, killed demon(Hollow) and warlord alike over the next few months; in time, restoring his village to what it had once been. It seemed that prosperous times had returned to his home as Kenshin and his men protected the village.
But as it would seem, fate is a cruel mistress...
A powerful Hollow attack during the night of a festival had caught Kenshin's men completely off guard. Villagers were massacred left and right as Hollow tore through the festival and feasted. The only one who was able to draw his weapon in time was Kenshin.
Kenshin battled fiercely; for hours on end with the Hollow. Kenshin was able to minimize damage to the town by luring it outside of the festival...but in the end...the two opponents fell by the other's hand.
Kenshin awoke in a beautiful garden. After asking around, he learned that he had been sent to Soul Society, and due to his immense bravery in the Real World, had been granted admission into the Shinigami training academy.
After a quick Q & A session, Kenshin agreed to become a Shinigami under the idea that he would be able to protect his town, even in his afterlife...
Years past, and Kenshin had become a well respected and well liked Shinigami. His views on protecting the human souls and their divinity were popular topics of discussion during his time as a Shinigami. Kenshin, Vice Captain of the Eleventh Squad(at the time), had everything he could want...except the satisfaction of knowing that the homeland that he had fought and died for was safe.
It had been 54 years, but Kenshin was granted a one day pass into the human world to see how his town had prospered.
But what he saw that day...was not prosperity...
The town had become a corrupt center of filth, poverty, murder, and prostitution...It was disgusting.
Kenshin found that a corrupt overlord had taken hold of the city only a few years after his death, turning the town into what it was now. And who had done this to his home?....
His own nephew...
Kenshin went mad...calling forth his Shikai and slaying all of the corrupted individuals in the town.
Eventually...he made it to his dear nephew, and with the help of his Bankai; put an end to his reign as over lord.
Soul Society did not take this lightly...
Upon his return, Kenshin was stripped of his , pierced in the organ that produced his spirit power, and banished to the land of the Hollow.
Kenshin lay in the white sands of the desert, injured, bleeding...and awaiting his death. He had nothing to live for anymore. Nothing...
His home had been corrupted and distorted...He had been banished from Soul Society for doing, surely, what the King himself would have done. Banished...for passing judgment on the unworthy...
He would never again posses enough spirit power to summon his Zanpakutō, or even use Kido.
And worse than anything...he was trapped in Hueco Mundo...
Kenshin awaited his death their, unable to move. Eventually his features had become as twisted and deformed as a Hollow. But still...he could not move for the spot.
55 year passed...and then...darkness.
Kenshin had been eaten by another Hollow, and in time...he became part of what was a Gillian class Hollow. Mindlessly, he ate. Day after day, year after year...he ate. For 153 years...until...
He had something to live for.
He was doing God's work after all right? He would continue serving the Soul Society King...even in this wretched state. He would punish the wicked....
Kenshin's eyes opened in the body of the Gillian. He was the Gillian....
Finally able to control the monstrous form, Kenshin did as he had done for over a century... he ate. He devoured every single Gillian that had been traveling with him; transforming himself into an Adjuchas.
Kenshin finally had his own body again...or something close to it. He appeared as a strange, angel-like creature made simply of bones...
And so...he continued his path. Punishing the Hollow the only way he could; be eating.
90 years later...Kenshin had risen to the title of; "Vasto Lorde."
It was 120 years later that Kenshin met Aizen-sama. Apperently, he too, was a Shinigami that was hated by Soul Society for wanting to do nothing more than the King's work...
Apparently Aizen was interested in seeing what would become of Kenshin if he were to cross the borders and become an Arrancar...a Hollow with Shinigami powers. A Shinigami turned Hollow turned Shinigami again...the results could be interesting.
Kenshin pledged his allegiance to such a worth cause.
And with that, he was born.
Espada Numbero 2....Knave.
For ten years he served Aizen's cause...until the birth of another Espada...one who would take his place as number 2; demoting Knave to the rank of 3...
"...Kira..."
Knave's tattoo of the number two was burned off, and the the number three was tattoo just to the right of it.
He refused, however, to remove the 2 from the chain on his katana...it would serve as a reminder...that one day, he'd reclaim his spot as number 2...and eventually become the top Espada...
Rp sample:
Knave walked slowly, almost lazy under the canopy in Los Noches. His hands stuffed down into his hakama; The Espada glared up at the ceiling. Why had Aizen-sama bewitched the ceiling? Did it remind him, like Knave, of Soul Society? Or was this just part of some elaborate scheme as per usual?
"...Either way...it's annoying..." Knave had learned never to say things against Aizen while under the canopy. It was all being watched.
His Zanpakuto clattered unnecessarily loud as the loud "number two" chain hit against his purple sheath. It was a warning...and a challenge. All Arrancar knew that when you heard the horrible clanging sound you'd either bring your 'A' game, or high-tail it out of there.
"I wonder what that bastard Kira is up to today..."
